1    Belle of the Ball  (M3122) foaled 1965 by Carna Dun (89)– Glen Belle, (342) Breeder Paddy King,   Confined and Supreme Champion of Clifden Show 1978 with owner Joe Gorham. 

 2    In 1974, six mares, some with foals were sent by the Connemara Pony Breeders Society to the Phoenix Park in Dublin and presented to  President Erskine Childers.  L.-R. Sean  Keane, Mrs.Childers, Minister for Agriculture, Mark Clinton, President Childers holding Fort Hazel by Marble. In back, Joe McNamara, Tom Noone and Joe McDonnell.

5    Albany Flame (M5330) F 1965 or ’69  by Errislannan Sparkler (210)– Turf Fire. Breeder Stephen Folan, Errislannon Sold to Denmark to  Mr. Eric Bus. His daughter is the rider. (Info. from Lene Nielsen in Denmark).

 6    Jealous Lady (M2301) F. 1961  by Clonkeehan Auratum-Errisbeg Lass. Breeder Francis Folan, owner in Sweden Countess   Oxenstierna.  Had 5 stallion sons in the Swedish Stud Book.

 7    Cashel Eileen (M2468) 1962 by Doon Paddy – Necklace, first Connemara pony exported  to Finland. Via Sweden.(Countess Oxenstierna) in 1966. Owner then was Jack Bolger.  Breeder Martin Mannion, Recess.  ( info from Tuula.Pyori)

 8       Michael O’Connell on Lambay Island with Lambay Noreen (M2782) 1969 by Inver Rebel, Lor Noreen.

 11    Abbeyleix Holly (M4225) 1969 by Carna Bobby – Abbeyleix Molly, breeder/owner Lady de Vesci, and Ashfield Loyal Sparrow (M4424) Carna bobby-Wise Sparrow In 1971 Holly won the Carew cup in Clifden for 2 year old fillies and was Reserve Champion.

 13  Stanislaus Lynch, Dublin.  Equestrian  journalist and horseman, Stanislaus Lynch became a major buyer and exporter of young ponies to England and America in the 1950’s and ’60,s.  With the help of Michael Clancy of Spiddal, over 60 ponies were shipped to the U.S to breeder Michael Wright during this period.

27    Joe Day with Ballydonagh Bobby (S242) 1966 by Carna Bobby – Glen Fanny.  Stallion class winner in 1982 and Reserve Champ.( and won stallion class in ’87)

 29   (small pic. under ridden pic) Prizewinners, Recess Show 1925.  This was the 2nd Show run by the Breeders Society.  (1st Registered Mares is Bayleek Polly (33).  2nd is Cannon Belle (47) and RDS Medal for best Mare with foal at foot ) Liib Petch info. Judges were T.McD Kelly, Mr. C.J. Kerin and Mr. D. Twomey.  Gold Digger (5) won the Best Stallion award for the second year running, shown by Mr. George  Lyons, Bunakill.

 30    Marble (S254) f.1966 by Rebel Wind (127) Callowfeenish Dolly 2nd, (1913) with owner John Brennan.  Breeder Martin Mulkerrins.

 31    Gloves Misty (M6535) 1974 by Carna Bobby – Grey Hop.  Winner with owner Eddie Madden of Clifden Championship in 1982, 1986 and 1988.

 33    Airfield  (M7784) 1980.  by Bright Cloud – Dohulla Royal Rose with owner Tommy F. Mullen, won the Moyard, Carew Cup for two year old fillies in 1982. Breeder Martin Lee

 34    Carna Gold by Carna Dun ex Carrabaun Colleen.  breeder Colm Feeney, Carrabaun Westport.1974.  To Holland after reg.’77, then Germany for some years, leased by Yorg Stoben   (internet Pictures emailed  by Sabine Koste (Sept ’12.)

 35    Grey Girl (M2021)1958 by Camlin Cirrus – Clynagh Bay won three year old fillies class at RDS 1961, with owner Jim Lee

 36    Carrabaun Boy (S353)1968 by MacDuff – Anna Maree, with owner John Luskin in 1971 won the open Stallion class.  Won the Championship in ‘73.

38    Winter Roche (M1495) 1950 By Creganna Winter T.B. – Dunroche, with Josie Conroy recieves the Archbishops Cup for the third year running, from Canon Cunningham in 1959.  This cup was first presented in 1944 to Cuach na Coille.

39    Carna Bobby (S79) 1946 By Gil – Carna Dolly, in Clifden, Breeder Patrick Mulkerrin.  Clifden Champion 1949 and 1955

40    Grahan Tulloch with Boden Park Maythorn (M5195) 1971  by Mervyn Grey Monkey – Clonkeehan Whitethorn, breeder Jane Dalrymple,  receives the Carew Cup from Minister Mark Clinton in 1974.  She was the Supreme Champion, Clifden ‘73

41    Atlantic Breeze (M2174) 1960 by Carna Bobby – An tSailchuach  at the Dublin Spring Show in 1965 won the 4-5 yr old class.  Michael Clancy owner, whose ponies won 3 of the 4 classes at the Show, with John Meade.

    I was wondering where you got the information about the breeding of Cushatrough Lass? She was bread by my grandfather, Richard Davis, who passed away suddenly when he was still young and I would love to find out the names of any other ponies he bread when he was still living in Cushatrough.
