Banks Vanilla came overall 6th in the 40 strong Mountain & Moorland Ridden Class and was awarded ‘Best of Breed’ in the Connemara section. Well done to owners Clifden’s Noel & Kate Noonan. A great result you will agree, for this Novice Connemara Pony in her first year as a Riding Pony. The Overall Champion, a Welsh Section B Pony, was also produced by Sam Roberts. From New Zealand’s South Island came the picture of the 2yr. old Colt who originally appeared in these pages in 2010 as a pretty palomino colt foal: Born 29th November 2010, dam, Timaunga Tara, is by Barwidgee Erriff (Connaught of Millfields (Ire) x Barwidgee Frederika (Aust) out ofRidgeway Dream (Blandings Bobby (Aust) x Blandings Juliet (Aust). Dream’s pedigree goes back to Strongbow, Camlin Cilla, Bridgeboy and Island King.He has grown into a strong handsome 2yr. old and belongs to his breeders Bridget and Tony Turner who breed under the Timaunga prefix. His beautiful coat colour remains intact and the palomino Connemara is still rarity in this part of the world.
